What We Offer

  • Neurobiomechanical Care

Neurobiomechanical Care is beneficial for musculo-skeletal conditions, general aches and pains and headaches.  Most importantly, it is an essential part of health to ensure that your nervous system & immune system are working at their maximum potential.

These services include:

Specific chiropractic care for the entire family
Myofascial, cranial-sacral and emotional release

  • Individualized Chiropractic Treatment Programs:

Each patient is evaluated for vertebral subluxations which are subtle misalignments of any one of the vertebrae forming the spinal column or any of the bones forming the pelvis. Vertebral subluxations can occur during fetal development, during the birthing process, or as the result of any physical, chemical, or emotional stress or trauma.  Subluxations can result in a nervous system “disconnect” between the brain and the body. Your nervous system controls every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. These nerve impulses, messages between your brain and your body, travel through your spine.  Having a spine free from vertebral subluxation is essential for optimal heath.  Subluxations can also contribute to an atypical or immature development of the nervous system which can lead to various developmental delays or chronic health issues. Many children with neurodevelopmental disorders and adults with chronic health problems have a depressed immune system; chiropractic care is known to support immune system function. Dr. Buerger utilizes a very specific chiropractic approach called the Gonstead method to ensure that each patient receives the exact care that they need.

  • Myofascial, cranial-sacral and emotional release:

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Trauma (chemical, physical or emotional),  inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in many of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, electromyography, etc.)

  • Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Cranio-Sacral Therapy works by helping the body’s natural healing mechanisms dissipate the negative effects of stress on the central nervous system. This is accomplished through utilizing a physiological body system called the cranio-sacral system, which maintains the environment in which the central nervous system functions. It consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord, extending from the bones of the skull, down to the tailbone area (or sacrum).  The role of this system in the development and performance of the brain and spinal cord is so vital, that an imbalance or dysfunction in it can cause sensory, motor and/or neurological disabilities.

The use of such neurobiomechanical techniques allows us to look at each patient as a unique individual. By freeing the body of stressors and/or restrictions that produce negative effects on the body, individuals are also able to release emotional stressors/trauma that may be contributing to their current health status.

  • Neuronutritional Care

Neuronutritional Care is essential for optimum function at the cellular level.  Cells are the “building blocks of life”.  It is said that the adult human body has anywhere from 50-75 trillion cells.  Without proper nutrition and/or with a chronic bombardment of toxins or stress, our cells cannot function properly and may become sick.  This may lead to“cellular suicide” and an eventual breakdown of various body systems.  This process can go on for many years before a person experiences any symptoms!

These services include:

Healthy dietary habits for today’s world
Nutritional supplementation
Safe & effective detoxification methods
Food sensitivity testing
Biomedical testing for various gastrointestinal or metabolic conditions
Specialized programs for Neurodevelopmental Disorders

  • Diet, Detoxification, Nutrition, and Supplementation Programs:

Dr. Buerger is a certified DAN! (Defeat Autism Now!) practitioner (www.autism.com ) and instructor for the Intersect4kids module Neurology, Nutrition, and Biomedical Considerations for Prevention &  Management of Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Children (www.intersect4kids.com).  There is a tremendous amount of research that shows children with certain neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and adults with chronic illness such as:  sinusitis, thyroid disease, Celiac’s disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and autoimmune disorders, suffer from chronic inflammation of the gut, a suppressed immune system, and toxicity. Neuronutritional care, also known as biomedical care, looks at how a person’s health manifestations or neurological manifestations may actually be a result of some other underlying physical breakdown of the body; particularly the gastrointestinal system and toxicity.  Patients are evaluated on an individual basis depending on their particular disorder and needs.

  • Neurodevelopmental therapy

Neurodevelopmental therapy is essential for proper neurodevelopment which ultimately leads to optimum academic, social, behavioral, and motor learning.  Currently in the United States, one out of six children has a neurodevelopmental disorder.  At Eagle Canyon Wellness & Sensory Development Center, we specialize in working with children and adults with Neurodevelopment Disorders as well as prevention and proper development.

These services include:

Neurosensory Integration
Neuromovement Therapy
Interactive Metronome
Primitive Reflex Integration
  • Neurointegraton Programs

Movement through space is essential for proper areas of brain development; particularly important is the movement of belly crawling and creeping on all fours. The action of crawling requires simultaneous use of opposite extremities (moving right arm with left leg, followed by left arm with right leg), in a reciprocating motion. Motor nerve impulses to the extremities originate in each side of the brain cortex and cross in the brainstem to supply required motor activity to the opposite extremity. Since crawling requires the simultaneous use of opposite extremities, each crawling movement therefore requires the use of both the right and left hemispheres of the brain in a complex action of neurological coordination.  Many children with neurodevelopmental disorders, or behavioral or learning issues, have delays in reaching various developmental milestones; have never reached them; or have not carried out specific milestone movements correctly or for the necessary amount of time needed for proper neurological development.  These children may also have retained Primitive Reflexes.  These are reflexes that we are born with and that should be integrated into the nervous system by no later than the first year of life. Not reaching these various developmental milestones or retaining various Primitive Reflexes will impede the progress of higher and more sophisticated areas of brain and nervous system development. This will result in poor motor, social, behavioral and academic learning. Based on each individual’s specific area of deficit, Dr. Buerger offers special neuromovement and “brain” exercises to promote proper development of neuropathways essential for learning and navigating through life. She also offers Interactive Metronome programs as part of treatment.  This comprehensive approach also helps to develop, or properly regulate, the sensory processing system.

Dr. Buerger also works with adults that have suffered a stroke or have been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/HD, OCD, anxiety and other various disorders.

  • Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment (mHBOT)

Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment (mHBOT) is a safe method of delivering more oxygen to the body at the cellular level.  HBOT provides the optimal environment for the body to carry out vital cell processes, thereby increasing the capacity for the body to heal itself. It utilizes filtered pressurized ambient air to dissolve oxygen directly into the plasma, cerebral and spinal fluids, flooding tissues and vital organs with oxygen.   Mild Hyperbaric Therapy allows for healing at the cellular level, which is critical for changes to be made which in turn affect healthy tissue formation, making it possible for  healthier organs and ultimately a healthier body overall.

Some conditions/population groups that mHBOT has been known to benefit are:

Sports Injuries/Athletes
Autism Spectrum Disorders/Neurodevelopmental Disorders
Cerebral Palsy
Healing after surgery
Brain Injuries
Multiple Sclerosis
Lyme Disease
